A homeowner who lives in our community reported this incident and wanted to share the experience with rest of us. Please be alert and take precautions.

Yesterday (02/07/2012), at about 11:00 a.m., my babysitter noticed a man looking in our window. About 20 minutes later, she noticed someone trying to open our front door. I had her call the police when I came home, but it had been hours, so the police could not do anything. The police said if you ever see someone looking into your window (or your neighbors) to call 911 IMMEDIATELY. Here is the description of the man: possibly homeless by appearance, shoulder length yellow/gray hair 70s style with a square cut on the bottom and no bangs, age 50-60, he was crouching but is possibly 5 foot 7 or five foot 8 inches tall, he has severe acne scarring on his face, with otherwise average facial features; white male. Today he was wearing a heavy, red, hooded sweatshirt. Please be aware if you see anyone fitting this description and call the police immediately with his location. My babysitter said the man was possibly with one or two other people, and one was possibly a child.
In general, this is a reminder not to open your door to anyone you don’t know, but you may want to let them know you are home (by using noise such as a TV set or barking dog) so they do not proceed to break-in. Do not hesitate to call 911 if someone tries to look in your windows!

In the coming days, the “Comment” section will be removed from this site.
This site was created and has been maintained by a hard working group of Northgate Block Watch volunteers. As much as each of our current volunteers would like to have unlimited time to devote to Block Watch, most of us have full time jobs, kids and families that are rightfully our priorities. As a group, we often cannot respond in a timely fashion to comments that are made on our site or properly address them. Therefore, it has been decided to remove this section.
As always, we welcome suggestions about our site by selecting the “About” tab above. You can also request to be added to our e-mail list there. If you have a homeowner question related to your property or our common areas, please contact CCMC at 480-921-7500.
We will continue to use our limited resources to help Delay, Deter and Detect crime in our community, use our current communications tools to keep you updated and conduct as many community building activities as possible. Thanks to all for your support!
