Neighborhood Watch for Burglars

A message from one of our fellow Northgate residents:

Just want to put out a heads up for those who live near or have their home listed for sale. Today I encountered a potential burglar in our backyard. If your home is for sale (like ours was until this incident), they will ring the door bell first and if it appears that no one is home they will go to the backyard. I just happened to be home at the time but did not answer the door. When he noticed I was home and in the backyard, he quickly ran to the front and got in his vehicle. I followed him by foot but was unable to get a license plate. They know what they are doing because he made sure I could not see the back of his vehicle as he drove in reverse to the end of the street and out. It was a white, Chevy S10 single cab, older model with some front drivers side damage with blue paint. Please ask everyone to look out for each other and report any suspicious vehicles.

I have gotten some door bell rings and no one is there. We live in the cluster homes.

Of course, the fact that the west gate is wide open and has been for weeks makes this kind of thing easier…

I came home last week to find my back gate wide open. we are very lucky our dog is too stupid to run away.

If anyone finds out why a large helicopter circled (is still circling) with a spotlight over the cluster homes, I’d love to know as it is now 2 am and it has not stopped. They have a spotlight on and it looks like it is directed at the golfcourse next door. I hope they run out of gas soon. Is anyone else sleeping? You must be a sound sleeper.

Debbie, it kept my husband awake last night too, but, somehow I slept through it. Apparently there was a robbery at the Circle K at Thunderbird and 26th Ave. at 1:30 am last night. I have a feeling they were looking for the two robbers that got away. I read it all in the local news today. Keep your doors locked! We set our house alarm every night. Just FYI! :) Mia

I also read that there were two pit bull attacks on Union Hills and near 19th Ave. yesterday. They both were finally caught, but, attacked two people and bit them lots. I’m thinking of taking mace or pepper spray on my daily walks with the Pit bulls and the Coyotes running loose! I thought we lived in the suburbs…ha! :)

Anyone hear about what’s going on in the empty lots next to us? The garbage is really piling up…there has to be something we can do as a community.

Does anyone have issues with their AC? Mine seems to be running all the time and unable to cool below 79F. I do not think it is normal for the AC to be working practically 90% of the time daily. Was it sized appropriately? Any feedback? Thanks

Everyone is having issues. Mine had a freon leek from when it was installed. These units aren’t great and it seems they were installed poorly.

As for it running all the time, make sure your air filter has been changed. If is old, that haboob a few days go prolly completely filled the filter. Your ac unit may be getting starved.
