Storage Shed Robbery
We received this email from Terry Lucas today:
Just a note to let you know that our grandson who also lives in Northgate, on 22nd Dr, had a break-in and two mountain bikes were stolen from his storage shed. In broad daylight no less! Lesson learned….make sure your sheds are locked and for that matter your gates!!
As some of you may already know, the goal of Block Watch is to detect, deter and/or delay crime. This robbery is a good reminder for you to review your security at your home as well as keep an eye out for suspicious activity in your neighborhood. If you see something suspicious happening on a neighbor’s property, alert your neighbor if you have their contact information and/or call the police.
The more vigilant that we all are, the more likely it is that criminals will not target our neighborhood.

Another reason why the gates should be closed at all times and set to require a code, remote, or be buzzed in, rahter than the open on aproach.
TMCTMC said,
The callbox for the WEST GATE has been ‘destroyed’ for 2-3 weeks due to someone running into it AGAIN. Repeat, 2-3 weeks & still not repaired. I told CCMC to install a 4-6” diameter post (10ft long -5 ft in ground, 5 ft out) about 5ft NORTH of the call box so IT is struck instead of the BOX –that was 18 months ago & nothing was done.
WHY -Because CCMC does NOT listen to residents & frankly, they do not care. So now people are reporting break-ins & a huge reason is because we live in a GATED, ‘wide open Welcome Criminals’ community.

Does anyone know -Have the PITBULL & OWNER from the biting incident on Marconi on Jan 31 been located?
Sean Kirkwood said,
TMCTMC – Park Pro fixed it yesterday. I had contacted Cheryl at CCMC and, per her email, it seems as if a Pulte truck ran into it. Park Pro apparently had to order parts.

There is BLAME written in red paint/lettering all throughout the neighborhood. I’ve counted about 7 places that it’s written. Can something be done about this? It’s on most of the sidewalks? Has anyone called about this? I’ll call if nobody has yet, does anyone know the phone #?

I contacted Phoenix Neighborhood Services Department about the trash on the north side of Grandview. Talked to John at 602-262-7844 and he said he would open a case. 4:30PM 2/25/2011

Mia, please report the vandalism and you can say that other residents are bothered as well and give my name too. I have and nothing has been done. I’ve seen it written on the sidewalks and also have complained about it there (between the pool and the playground) and have complained about the grafitti on the playground and playground equipment. It’s probably been about a year since I complained and I’m glad other people are making complaints too! Thank you!

Sean, thanks for contacting Phx Neighborhood Services Dept. I did the same a few months ago and nothing has been done. There are at least 4-5 different homeless people living there too (you can see their shelters and they arrive at sunset. I feel bad for them but it’s not safe for anyone either. I called the city and was told they cannot do anything about the homeless people and have no outreach programs for them.
The trash is terrible. I was told that there are 3 different parcels of land and not all of them are owned by the state trust. Would it help if a bunch of people called the same person you spoke to?
Sean Kirkwood said,
Cynthia,
I think we should all call and complain about the garbage. I cannot belive this is not a code violation. I also called the police about the homeless people living there and was told they would send someone to investigate.
I also think we should organize a block cleanup. Since the weather is nice now, we should all go out and clean up trash. I know I would be willing to donate an hour or two. Thisnk this would be a good thing for the block watch/president to organize.

Thanks for reporting this again!

That was easy. I just went to: http://www.phoenix.gov/EMAIL/appblght.html
and cut and copied the addresses you provided and complained about each parcel separately. Thanks for the addresses! When I last complained, it was via telephone and I only gave cross streets.
Can we ask our blockwatch to distribute these addresses and website so that we can get a lot of people to complain about it?
Sean Kirkwood said,
I have gotten nothing from Block Watch when I contacted them about this, so that is anyone’s guess…

Is anyone else kind of annoyed at the loud basketball players every night? We live close to the court, so, they are playing til 9:00 pm every night. Many drive in from other places…a few live here. It looks like they take over the court for a couple of hours and little kids don’t get to play on it. Anyone have any thoughts about this? They are very loud, and sometimes screaming obscenities.

TMCTMC-I can’t tell when your post went up, but to answer your question: Yes, the pit bull owner was finally located. The gal who was bitten has moved out, but her family hired an attorney and it was their intention to pursue the case. I have no idea if the dog is still with the owner.

To Whom It May Concern:
May I request to kindly replace the basketball nets and trim the tree by the light post on the south east side of the basketball court, bushes are blocking the light.
Thank you in advance for your immediate action.
Sean said,
HOA Member – I would recommend you email your request to Cheryl Miller (cmiller@ccmcnet.com). I am not sure if CCMC reads or responds to postings on this web page.
Sean said,
Has anyone heard back from CCMC after the last HOA meeting? We were lead to believe that we would get a copy of the landscaping company’s schedule and I have not seen it yet.

does anyone know why the police helicopter was flying over my house last night?

I heard someone robbed Walmart and hid in our neighborhood and tried to break into a house too. Awesome, huh. UGH.
cynthia said,
How do we get the graffiti removed from our community?
I’ve sent requests to Cheryl & Michelle for 2 years and have been ignored.
